Baja mexico fishing

Me and my girl want to drive down into mexico and stay at a nice resort and fish from the surf and get a ponga boat for a day or so. what the best place to go thats driveable and not 15+ hours away?

do you need a passport now to get in and out of mexico? or will a drivers license and a passport work? thanks guys!

Hey Kevin,
What's a "PONGA"......

J/K, it's panga, but pronounced the way you spelled it. What about Hotel Coral? I never stayed there, but I will be staying there in April.

Re: Baja mexico fishing

What does your girlfriend require for a resort? That's a pretty loosely-defined term in Baja.

Two words - Rocky Point. Look at Rocky Point Real Estate - Rocky Point Vacation Homes and Condo Rental in Puerto Penasco

They have really nice houses that you can rent, reasonable rates

Re: Baja mexico fishing

3 more words, DONT DO IT.

You could not pay me enuff to cross the border in my own vehicle with my girlfriend. I would seriously search some of the other threads on here. There are pages and pages of people who have been stopped and extorted for money, some have been abandoned while others made of with their stuff, vehicle and all.

If you do do it, make sure she understands the risks and knows how common this is. Be careful.

Just my opinion.

Re: Baja mexico fishing

the way to Rocky Point is so easy, you are only on the mex hwy for 60 miniutes max. Also I an a few thousand other americans were down there for the Baja 1000 without any problems what so ever. We had close to 500K of equipment with our teams. If we were a prime target for thieves I do not know who would be
