Hey, guys i use the uni to uni on 12,20,30 all the time. I have caught lots yellows and bass. No failures. time in the water is the most important thing.. and at the right time.
I like fast tying knots.

I have been tying a doubled spectra to mono using twelve wraps over the doubled mono and wraping back the opposite direction and passing the line thru the loop the way it came in. It is real fast. I have tied this with 6 wraps and it also works good. I have used this on 40 and 50 lb line. I have pulled till the specta and the mono breaks. Both break well over the rated strength. I even put weights on knots i have tied and let them cook in the garage to see if they last.. I may wind up tying just 6 wraps with the spectra and mono for 40 and 50 lb line. It is fast tying and i eliminate the bimi. I don't like any extra knots. if they are not needed.

Oh, i double the spectra... i find that if i use a single strand that the knot breaks more often where the mono grips the spectra. The double line seems to protect against this.

Albright and close the ends by doubling half hitches, or bimini / reverse albright or worm. It depends how big of a hurry I am in and what the targeted fish is.

I practice, practice, practice. I pull & test my knots.and do the minimum to let me tie fast.

The bimini and all the fancy loops are nice.. But when the fish are biting, i don't have time to pull out tools.. The fast doubled albright with 12 turns seems to hold to max with 40 and 50 lb line. I tie just 6 turns if the fish are smaller and i don't expect a real long fight. Tie some knots and put some weights on the end like 30 lbs and let the knots cook .. see how well you tie. and practice the form for tying knots. It helps a whole bunch.

Double uni never failed (Uni to Uni). albright and bimini take to long to tie, especially in the middle of a good bite.

I have also tried the Pena Knot. The only thing i dis-like is tying one or two knots on the mono.. It makes a large bump.and then the rest of the knot is like an albright.

I like the doubled albright because it folds the mono over and ties it down to keep the lump size down when passing thru the guides in the forward direction. I cut the tag mono and the tag spectra.

I fold the mono about six inch I pass a doubled spectra loop thru the loop and pinch it about 1/4 inch from the end. I then wrap the for or five inches of doubled spectra 12 times forward and twelve times back. it is a small size to work with. I then pass the double spectra thru the loop where i have pinched it. I push the wrapped line down the final 1/4 inch keeping the working area tight. It is quick and simple. I don't need a foot of line. A half hitch can be used to terminate the end. I don't. Sinch the knot down tight and it holds.
