Re: Question!!! :)

Calico Bass on the plastics is my favorite type of fishing. Buy some 4-5 inch Fish Traps that somewhat resemble common baitfish (sardines) and some leadheads to match. If you don't feel comfortable putting them together have someone at a tackle shop do it for you. Have fun.

Re: Question!!! :)

If you want BIG calicos, use live bait (mackerel). I've never had a calico under 4lbs with macs.

Re: Question!!! :)

As others have said plastic swim baits are your best bet.

Many to choose from with Fish Traps and Big Hammers being at the top of the list.

Big Hammers are what I use most of the time.

Do a google search for Big Hammer and you will see what we are talking about. Matter fact on their website they have tips on how to fish them in different conditions. Haven't looked at Fish Traps website but they most likely have tutorials as well.

Good luck.

Re: Question!!! :)

Berkley makes some good swimbaits that are smell impregnated, they come prerigged in many natural colors. I have done very well with them.Try the 4inch sardine on 8 to 12lb test, you will killem!
