Question New guy, need advice.

First post here and I need some advice. I'm new to this Tuna fishing deal, I've been out once on a 6 pack out of Santa Cruz and was skunked. I'm more of a bass/trout/whatever freshwater kinda.

So I got invited to go on the Gallilean next week, I think it's a one day??? all I know is we leave at 8PM and get back sometime the next day/night. I have no idea what to bring or what to expect.
I figure I will have to rent gear unless it's provided (not sure) since other than Bass gear all I have is a Penn209 and ugly stick 7' trolling rod. Should I bring that for anything? if so how should I rig it? What do you guys recommend to rent if I need to and where should I get it from?
How should I handle the fish? Do I need to bleed em myself?
What should I expect as far as food goes? Should I bring stuff? do I buy it from the Galley?
What about beer? Can I bring an ice chest or anything to drink with me? If not can I get it there on the boat?
What should I wear? Pumps or heels? (joke)

Pretty much let me know what you would advise for a rookie to have a good time. I'm driving down from Sacramento for this trip and don't want to blow it by being stupid

TIA

I'll go ahead and use the search too.

Welcome to BD Mike.
Yes, you can rent gear at the landing, a 20lb rig and a 30lb rig should be enough.
You should buy some hooks, 2/0 size is good, about 20 of them.
You should buy some 3/8 oz. sliding egg sinkers, about 10 of them.
Learn to tie a Palomar knot http://www.animatedknots.com/palomar...matedknots.com
The deckhands will gaff the fish and take staple your assigned # to it, and store it, at the end of the trip they will fillet it for you for a minimal fee.
You don't need to bring food, the galley will have what you want.
You probably will not be allowed to bring beer, or a cooler on the boat.
The boat will be selling beer and sodas.
You can dress in layers, sweatshirt over t-shirt, sweat pants over shorts, and you should were deck boots if you have them.
Pack a duffel bag with a change of clothes incase you get wet or if your sweaty and want somthing clean for the ride home.
Talk to the deck hands, tell them your a rookie and would appreciate any help they could give you, give a couple of them some $$ up front, maybe $10 or so and ask them if they could keep an eye on you and give you a hand the next day when your fishing.

Listen to the deckies during the day, follow your line around the boat, and have fun.

Good Luck

Wear clogs and get drunk in the parking lot like eveyone else!

Sheesh, newbies. Just kidding, you will have a great time as the fish are ON.

You should plan on a cooler to bring some fish back with ya. Get some cold packs, a roll of duct tape, Big Baggies and a cheap cooler.
