Trolling for tuna

I got into a discussion with a coworker about what speed you should troll at for tuna. I wanted you guy's opinion at what speed the following should be trolled and how far out to troll them:
-Tuna feathers
-Plugs
-Rapalas

albacore
6 to 8 knots
rapala and cedar plug 15 to 20' off the transom
feathers back about 40' or so
something waay back

spread generally farther back for yellow fin
but thats just me

I have found 6-7 knots for Albies and much faster for Yellowfin like 8-10

as far as where to put the feather, I like close

the weather has alot to do with how fast you can troll and keep the jigs in the water. the commercial jig boats fish albacore slow and will spin big circles when they get bit the fish will keep eating the jigs, Every sport boat I have ever worked on has been stopped by all types of tuna at full cruise, El nino years we would run fast with buttend down drags so that the skippies would tear off while the yellow fin and big eye would stick. remember though even the fastest sport boats only cruise at 10-12 knots. as far as rapalla's and ceder same deal however the bait must be tuned so that it stays in the water on small boats flat line clips will help keep your jigs in the water at a faster speed. and turning will increase the speed of your outside jig and allow the inside jigs to slow down some times a rapala on the inside of your circle will get hammered every time you turn on a sonar mark while the outide jigs skip good luck
