Hey Rod,
I hear you, I'm think even getting 600 gal would pay off. I found a Baja web site, they have diesel listed at 1.85 and gas at 2.10. I wonder what it is at the marinas. Paying half what it is here sounds good, make a fun trip out of it.

Last year it was about $1.85 for diesel at the Coral Marina. I believe that the price is about the same now.

try posting in the mex reports forum, i drove down just a couple of months ago, and the gasoline was basically the same price as it is here, so i would assume diesel would be about what it is here.

While on this subject how much diesel can you bring back across the border? Not thinking about boats but with a pickup truck.

The price of regular non leaded yesterday was $2.25 per gallon on the street, although some of the marinas have started to add 15% on, unjustifiably.
Diesel should be a little cheaper. Sorry I don't have the exact number.

I heard $2.12 for diesel at the Coral a few days ago. The poster also said it ended up being higher than he was originally quoted. Do they dye the marine stuff down there? I'm considering putting a 100 gallon tank in the bed of my truck. If I troll back, I get about the same mileage in the boat as I do towing it. If I do tow down and top off the tank, I can use it to keep the boat topped off for the local trips.
