Re: Daisy chains

I make my own...very easy to make

some days that's all that gets bit....some days not at all..

always good to have in your arsenal.

we usually have 1 color for the main bait & the squids in front totally different.

like I'll have 3 pink/white skirts up front with a bl/pur or mean jo green trailing.

Re: Daisy chains

I love them. I have a couple with either cedars on the end or tuna clones. The key is to have the squids above be a different color than your main lure. This gives the impression of a small school of fish/squids being chased by something bigger. I always run at least one in every spread. We've had days where its all that gets hit.

Re: Daisy chains

it's funny. the first time i broke one of those out, i got laughed at. by EVERYONE....including the skipper

....next thing i knew, that puppy was getting bit left and right

making your own daisy chain is simple. its actually cheaper to buy daisy chains if you dont have a good crimper, cheaper if you do own one. you need:

150lb FLOURO (trust me on this one) ~6 feet
1 tuna feather
3 small squids
1 350lb barrell swivel
1 double hook
3 single crimps
3 1/4oz egg sinkers
1 crimping tool

if i get bored later, i'll assemble a daisy chain and post some pics/instructions.

Re: Daisy chains

I like the ones that feed straight through the leader line and don't tie off the leader. I brought one down to San Jose Del Cabo and my panga captain fell in love with them (they were the only one getting the Yellow Fin Tuna). I ended up giving him a few and kept us out on the water all day.
