ghost shrimp

I built a pump today and ran down to the drink to check it out. I was a couple of hours late for the low tide. I only had a few feet to work in. I got a couple of shrimp in about a 1/2 hour. I did not fish but I saw one guy fishing the shrimp and he left with a bunch of fish that looked like BSP from where I was. I am going to get out there Tues. low tide is 3:00. Should be fun with a trout rod.

Is it true that the females - with eggs - drive the bass totally nuts? I've got a buddy that swears by them. Do they require a special hook when fishing?

Re: ghost shrimp

Those testplugs suck. Use an Ektelon handball (like a small raquetball). They last longer and get a better seal on the tube. Drill a hole through the middle and mount as you would the testplug.

Re: ghost shrimp

that was the same directions i used to build it. I have not fished with the shrimp yet but when I went down to check it out I did get about 1 shrimp per hole. I will let you know how I do.

Re: ghost shrimp

I used to catch GS along time ago in Mariners basin. Move around till you see lots of holes in the sand. And when you've sucked out 1 hole and emptied the sucker. Stick it back in the hole about 4" and suck again. you'll be surprised how many you get.
