Exclamation OPINIONS PLEASE!

O.K., here is the deal. My wife is eight monts pregnant and has been on bedrest for the last nine weeks. She has been in the hospitial three times with contractions, the last time they kept her for two days. Since our last trip to the hospitial she has had a test done every two weeks, the doctor is testing for a specific protien that indicates the posibility of my wife going into labor. If the test comes back negitive then there is a less than one percent chance that she will go into labor. When the latest test came back negitive my wife surprised me by telling me that she has arranged a babyysitter for our two year old. I can drop my two year old off at his normal daycare at 9AM on Thursday 3/9 and I don't have to be home until 9AM Saturday 3/11.

I am so fucking sick of keeping the house clean, doing dishes, laundry, etc.:Exploding :Exploding :Exploding this break is going to be exactly what I need. The queston is not what I should do, (I'm going fishing duh) but where should I go. I would love to go somewhere in Baja, one day fishing in Cabo, any one interested? I might head up to the mountians to kill some trout and enjoy the peice and quiet.

If you had 48 hours, right now, to go fish. Where would you go?

I'm probably goning to need/be a ho on this one since most of my regular fishing buddies have to work during the week.

BTW, since this is going to be my only chance to get out for the next few months I'm going to put aside a pretty big budget to make this happen.

Re: OPINIONS PLEASE!

You need the break but go somewhere where you can be in phone contact and home in less then a day. Keep in mind if you leave and she has the baby she will tell the story forever including at the settlement hearing. My .02

Yep, I thought about that and it's probably the right thing to do, I figure if I head out Thursday morning and head back Friday night I really wont be gone for even a whole day. But where should I go?

Re: OPINIONS PLEASE!

Wife is in the Hospital and you are thinking of leaving town? How about some surf fishing or something.... even gone 36 hours when there's no way to get back here on time is too risky, esp. with your wife's condition. Save those $$$ for a trip later on when you can leave and not take a chance missing your childs birth.

Just as soon as you leave, she will go into labor. Even if she doesnt go into labor, you'll be worried the whole time. Listen to the little voice in your head.

Re: OPINIONS PLEASE!

We knew you just had to hear it. You will be the fucking hero when you tell her thanks for thinking of me but you and our baby are more important right now, I'll have plenty of time to fish later.

THEN when it's one of her family's functions and the dodo's are wide open 5 mi off Pt Loma (it could happen) your going fishing.

Re: OPINIONS PLEASE!

Get the doctor to induce labor. She is the one with the big problem, so take care of buisness at home before playing hooky.

Re: OPINIONS PLEASE!

If you venture far from home you can almost bet on a phone call telling you to get back for delivery.

My wife was @ 8 months and wasn't having any signs of labor or contractions, everything was progressing normally. I went solo to Laughlin for an off road race. I checked in at midnight and by 3AM I was doing 90 MPH west bound on I-40 en route to the hospital. Shortest "free" weekend away I ever had.

If I were you I would gear up with ultra-light tackle and just plink around inshore and have fun. You might luck out and find some big guys so bring your normal rigs just in case.
