Adding to the arsenal

Just got back from my favorite store. SportMart. Not really for fishing gear but for clothes. The place is great. Columbia and NorthFace pants and shirts for under $10 sometimes.

Anyway

Can't go without cruising the dismal fishing dept at the local one. First, found a Shimano spinning rod for $16.97. Originally $40 or so. It's a CARBOMAX 6'6" 6-10LB one piece. I put a 18 year old Penn 430ss with some 6lb on it. I took the reel off of a Kencor Zebra rod that took a set near the tip. I have to see if Kencor will warraty the stick. Anyone have experience with them on the warranty side? Should I hit them up at the Hall show?

2nd-
AD DENALI GTX8 IM8 -- 6'6" 10-20LB That got my 18 year old Diawa PT33P baitcaster. I'll probably fish 10 or 12lb on it. I had the PT sitting on the bench for a while so it's good to put it back to work. I've caught a 17lb yellowtail at the double rig on it and about a 20+lb Yellow Fin Tuna tuna on it.

I'm trying to shore up the light/bay type stuff. The new spinner has a lot more backbone than my old Kencor. Better for the bay and light saltwater.

Yep, they are cheap. They feel good for what they are. I'll post some pictures of me trolling for tuna with the 6lb rigs out the back.

Re: Adding to the arsenal

I don't think this one is in that range. It's light, freshwater deal. I won it for something back about 18 years ago. To be honest, I've never been happy with the thing. No backbone and guides that are too small for good casting. 'f d

Wholly hoo yah. Trace Adkins video is on.. That ain't right. Ba donk a donk!

Re: Adding to the arsenal

There should be some "adding to the arsenal" threads coming up, during and after the "Hall" show. I'm planning on 3 at least and possibly 5.
