But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Well, I know the yellowtail are bigger down there. I want a nice month long trip to NZ. Time split between surfing Raglan and fishing Kingfish. My dream trip. Hotter girls, doubtful, nicer very likely.

Re: New Zealand Best fishing in the world

Went Yellowtail fishing on a 5 day trip with Rick Pollack (used to be sportfisihng capt. in SD years ago-- has lived in NZ for many years now and has a 54' custom sportfisher), based out of Whatkatane. 2 years ago in Jan.

Fished White Island, and the East Coast of North Island.

Awesome fishery, many, many yellows (30 pounders are "rats"), our biggest was 65 pounds, but we got rocked on volcanic pinnacles by way bigger units.

We caught cabillito-type bait at night under the lights, and also caught flying fish at night by netting them as they swam in the lights!

If I can remember I'll post some photos. Fished with 4 Aussie guys and had a blast! I have 3 Kiwi families I know down there and they are awesome folks!

Alan from SD

OK, dug up the photos from our trip....
Here they are:

This is Rick Pollack's new boat "The Pursuit" we were on it for 5 days (fished 7 guys real easy)

Sometime Mr. Mako got the fish before we did!

Here's Chris with the big fish, 65# new zealand 001.jpg

Hey Bushpig

give me some loc.s to fish there, I'll be there next year, my best friend now lives there somewhere near Auckland.. He's supposed to do some research for me, but he's not much of a fisherman.
