| Yeah Baby! East Cape bound
I just booked a trip for 5 days starting the first weekend in April. Man am I stoked. Baja is about my favorite place in the whole world. I hope this insane dorado bite continues a few more weeks. Now some tuna and roosters are starting to show. Anello, you can wash my tackle and clean my fish when I get back.

No worries bra. Thanks for the invite you fag. I am planning a few trips right now that I might forget to tell you about too(Catalina, Sharking up north etc.).
As for your trip, I just read a few killer reports from there. Sounds like Tuna, Dorado, Marlin, and Roosters are all in the counts. Is Emily fishing too????? If so, and she beats you(like I always do), you will never hear the end of it.

yeah, the bite is hot, I hear. I am waiting for the show at Del Mar so I can book a trip down there, April is the first window I have.....what resort are you staying at? We are thinking Los Parillias or Rancho Leonera........but if the others have "show specials" then they will get a look-see!
I'm taking my wife, who does not fish. Your wife fish? Mine has never had a problem making friends, but I would feel better about leaving her ashore for the 3 days I fish if she "knew" someone else.....
Very nice. I cant wait......East cape in April, Alaska in May, and Mag bay late August! WHOOHOOO!!!! (there goes the savings.....):p

Weekly Fish Report for week ending: March 1, 2003
Exceptionally mild weather for this time of year - cool mornings, warm midday highs about 80deg, warm water at 73deg, with calm conditions most of the week. The East Cape fishing season is off to an early start, with another excellent week, as striped marlin, roosterfish and dorado are all wide open, with the bite concentrated from the lighthouse to Cabo Pulmo, from just offshore to 5 miles out.

Mikeylikesit,
We are staying at Palmas de Cortez. We booked right through the hotel but got our own airfare. We got 4 nights, all food, 2 days superpanga, airport transfers and direct flight from SAN to SJD on Alaska air. All said and done it was right at $900 per person. You can save more money if you go in larger groups. My girlfriend does like to fish but she is not at all hardcore. She is more interested in sunbathing. I'll probably fish one day with her and one day by myself. They do have massages and girl shit for her to do while I'm fishing. Other hotels are cheaper but I needed a place that was at least somewhat nice given the girlfriend factor. Book quickly as dates are filling fast.

We got 6 nights {2 rooms, 4 guys going}, 2 days fishing on a super cruiser and 1 day fishing on super pangas{2 guys per boat}, breakfast on all 6 days, lunch on the fishing days. The rate was $422.00 per person. We are going to drive down and fish Punta Chivato for a day. Pretty cheap.......let me knowif anyone wants details. Frank

Hey Jason, Verdugos number is 011-52-624-141-0054. They had a web special for 3 nights/ 2days fishing on a super cruiser/ for $290.00/person. Its kind of a drive ,[20 hours or so} but thats part of the adventure. Hell you can camp there for 11.00/ day hot showers and flush toilets. This will be my second trip. It would be a great place for a pit stop n your trip in July. I think you may need one, its going to be smokin hot the closer to Aug/Sept. Call early they book up quick. You going twice? Lucky MF. | Martin Verdugos
Martin Verdugos is a great place and thought by many to be the best bargain in Baja. I would definitely stay there if this were a guys trip. But I needed to go a bit nicer with my girlfriend. Jason, wow, Loreto to Cabo. That is a long ass way, especially in a skiff. Be sure to take plenty of gas and fresh water. It would aslo be a good idea to stay in contact with someone on land as the weather can be really wierd and unexpected in the Sea of Cortez. Luckily you are going at a time when the weather should be at its best. But it will be HOT! Hopefully the fishing will be too. Have fun and be prepared.

I agree totally....if your girlfriend isnt a hardcore fisherperson like Shell, the shark, Palmas would be my choice too. Jason, are you traveling by skiff from Loreto to Cabo? Wow, thats a trip of a lifetime. "If your not standing on the edge, your taking up too much room. Frank
