Nep-Tuna Sila-Flex rods

I've got a couple of Nep-Tuna Sila-Flex rods w/o the butt/reel seats that I'm going to do something with but before I rip them up, I wanted to see if anybody wanted them.

Description: Brown w/ brown single wrapping on standard ring guides. One rod is 81 inches w/ 5 guides and the tip and the other is 84 inches long with 6 guides and the tip. They are labeled:

Sila-Flex
NEP-TUNA
NMT70R

The ferrule that goes into the reelseat/butt is 0.8 inches in diameter and 2.25 inches long w/ a notch in one corner. 5 inches of cork above the ferrule.

Not looking at making any money on this, just making sure nobody wanted them before they end up as something else. If any one has any additional info on these rods, post away.

You can email me hbfishing@lycos.com

Nep-Tuna

Howard wanted it so he got it for $30.

I don't know much about Nep-Tuna stuff but I'll pass on what little I know.

Nep-Tuna made rods w/ aluminum cradle reel seat/frames. The reel seats were aluminum frames to hold various Penn reels like the 349, 6/0, 4/0 among others. You removed the sidplates from your reel and screwed them onto the reel seat/cradle. The result was a Penn reel w/ an aluminum frame that was centered lower on the rod. They were gold aluminum frames.

Don't know when or where they were in business. Don't have a picture of one but once you see one, you won't forget it.

That's pretty interesting. Would think they were collectibles.
