A uni-uni has never failed me for connecting a short floro whip to mono. you must tie the uni-uni correctely and the knot is very strong.

Seaguar Knot

The Chark has a nice presentation video of how to tie this knot. Pretty cool. I used to use the blood knot, but like he says in video, had problems with inconsistency and breaking under load.

It's a bulky knot is my only problem with it, like Jack said the uni to uni is by far one of the strongest and slimest knots. Slimest is that a word it's to early unless I am fishing.....

This knot is the shit. Used it last week many times. Tied several for others and no one clubbed me in the head! Best of all it is an easy tie in snotty seas.

Uni-uni why look further? Its dam strong and small profile.

Seaguar is cool too.

I like the flouro to be connected just below my rod tip when I drop my bait to cast. A few inches below my rod tip.
