saving spectra when cutting spectra to mono connection

if i connect spectra to mono using a uni to uni or albright,is there any way to save some spectra when i cut the mono off or am i basically going to lose 10 inches of spectra every time i change a topshot?

Yep. Alot more than 10 inches if you are using a bimini.

Think about it though. If you change your topshot a dozen times a year (which is alot) you will lose about 15 feet a year (5 yds). Even after 5 years, if you put on 300 yds, you'd still have 275 yards of spectra.

I wouldn't sweat it.

I only lose an inch everytime...

of Dacron, and it takes about 5 minutes max to change.

Bimini to allbright to Dacron, overhand knot.

I use it to 50# line.
