Spectra or Dacron?
Hey Guys,

I have a stupid question.

I have a Shimano Beastmaster 50w that I got in a trade years ago.

I can't remember if the dude told it had spectra or dacron on it. The line doens't look round like my other specta, it's more flat.

Is there anyway to tell for sure?

I'd like to load it up for a t-shark and I want the line capacity.

Try cutting it with nail clippers. If it cuts it is dacron, if not spectra.

It might be Hollow, Hollow spectra will lay flat. fold over a piece of 30# single strand and see if you can run it up the middle.
