Advice requested-Dana PT launch ramp

I'm trailering up to the Dana Pt Boat ramp from San Diego County. Going to Santa Catalina for two nights. Last year I found out the hard way, you need a ten dollar bill to access the parking lot at an automated gate. It was no fun backing the boat 300 yards to reverse myself to find a 7-11 for change.
Are there any new procedures? Where's the nearest bait barge?
Thanx.

The nearest bait barge is in the harbor right by the fuel station. You can not miss it from the launch ramp. New owners there this year have 24/7 operations and seem to be in a mood to make their customers happy.

Parking...still need the $ to park and so bring a $10 and $20 with you at least!

On weekends there is someone taking your cash as you enter the gate. Triple axle trailers are $20. I have a triple axle so I arrive before the dude takes the money at the gate (the machine does not know how many axles I have). Have fun and arrive early if on a weekend.

If you get there before 7am, you'll need the 10 bucks (exact change) to get the automatic gate open. On the weekends, they have a guy who takes the money( I'm not sure what time he starts working the gate). Since you are staying for two nights, you are going to have to pay $10.00 each day your rig is in the parking lot. If you arrive when the office is open, just go inside or talk to the gate guy and you can pay for the additional days. I'm not sure what you do if you arrive before they are open. I'd at least leave a note on your dash, but I don't know if that is going to cut it.

All I know is that they are real pricks at that marina and I have seen them giving tickets out for a bunch of minor bullshit. The bait guys are real good guys and it makes the harbor a good spot to launch. If you want squid, you won't get it in DP. I talk to the guys at the barge and they said they wouldn't have squid available for awhile.
