Great people have good karma coming there way as well as a few cold ones on me

Short story. I Lost one of my favorite custom hoop nets the about a week ago right after i set it out. I new the kelp had claimed it and searched for over an hour with no luck. Fished all night and went home with tail between my legs and super bummed i lost one of my custom nets which costs me approx 100 or so bucks to make up.

Well three days later i was in Sacramento on a long haul job and my phone rang about noon. I heard the guy say "you lose somthing" and then the phone dropped the call. Dindt think anything of the call at the time... I didnt think anything of it and went on about my day. The next morning as im driving through bakersfield the phone rings again and it was the same voice i heard the day before only this time i could hear him really well and he said " I Got your hoop net ". I understood that very well and was extremly excited atwhat i was hearing. The net was found miles away from where i was fishing and had drifted ino deep water. He found it while bass fishing and noticed somthing about 4 feet under the water with kelp all ofver it. They figured it was lost and pulled it, no bugggs, damn! I thanked him very much for the return of the net. This guy went out of his way to find out who owned this net and then called me. This guy is a hero in my book and i am gonna pick it up tomarrow from him and leave him a hefty reward.......Why cant everyone be like this?

If your reading this buddy thanks again for being such a great guy......

The beers are on me this weekend.

>>>"This guy is a hero in my book ...."

I'm glad you got your hoop back, but really,......... A HERO? Just a bit over the top don't you think. By far one of the most "cheapened" words in the dictionary.

How about a nice guy, a honest guy, a good guy, a stand up a guy......!

Just saying. Sorry to piss on your post, its just a pet peeve of mine. Nothing personal.

"Hero....to refer to characters who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, display courage and the will for self sacrifice – that is, heroism – for some greater good, originally of martial courage or excellence but extended to more general moral excellence".

You know good shit happens to good people. Pass it on and remind the recipient to pass it on also.

Life can be good if you make it so. .... Sorry for the deep shit.

I found some guys license bag (hunting license, deer tag, cat tags, maps and all) dragging my deer off a hill top. I've contacted him and he's one happy camper I found his stuff. He couldn't believe I found it off any trail. It was just random luck.

Karma counts folks.

Yeah guys and gals,,,thanks! Nice to get my stuff back>>>

Mike,,,you will never understand! My nets have blood sweet and tears into them. Me and my old man hand sew the net from scratch and all the other gadgets are also done from scratch. No ready made store bought here. My fingers have actually bled from stitching the net for 5-6 hours at a time in one sitting. It takes alot of work but i can say that i built them its a family tradition so it means alot to us. This guy went above and beyond the call of duty. He actually stopped and took time out of HIS day to help me out of a situation that would have cost me quite a bit of money that i just dont have right now. This is why i consider him a hero in my book. The word hero is a powerful word and in my book he fits the bill. I am just glad that there are people outhere who are proactive in there surroundings and dont look the other way when something aint right...in my opinion those people are heroes. We need more of them!

I try to conduct myself in a respecable manner most of the time, sure there are times when i can be an ass but for the most part i try to do the right things and apparently the karma gods noticed.

This guy deserves the respect hes gonna get this weekend,,,,,bottoms up.

Good lesson on marking your gear.

We watched a guy get hauled off a jetty a few weeks ago by Harbor Patrol with his stuff still in the water, couldn't get him on the radio (sounded drunk when he called VA / HP) so we checked his buoys for anything that might get us in touch with him to see if he needed / wanted us to pick up / return his stuff and nada.

You won't have to apologize if you don't piss on the post in the first place...
