Something wrong?

I just paid my DMV registration on my 06 Sea Pro 206. Only $20.00. Is there something going on with our politicians? Why aren't they screwing us on boat registrations like they do with cars and trucks. And to top that when I got my new registration it was for 2 years. Expires in Dec. of 2011. Something's up, I can't believe boat reg is only $10.00 a year. Did anyone else experience this? I hope this isn't a mistake and they come for me and my boat.

Unsecured Property Tax comes from the County and it's a lot more than $20. I just got mine from DMV, too and it's only $20.

My property tax (the pleasure of allowing me to own a boat in the county of SD) runs about $250.00 and I don't know what that entitles me to. Maybe free launchings at the bay?

It used to be $5/yr many years ago - I was astonished when they raised it to $10!
Wait til the tax man sends you his bill...you won't be so happy.

You're probably not "driving" your boat 10-20k miles every year on the states highways.

It was $5.00 that you paid every year, then they changed it to $10.00 every 2 years and you had to have a "Use" sticker A-B or C depending on how big your boat was.$20.00 every 2 years is not bad considering we have free boat ramps down here.
