SB, if you let me borrow your BX2 I will write up a nice review for you.

Marcus, thanks for the review of the new reel. I also feel that plastic is out of place on a reel that costly. I hope that it holds up for you. Please let us know how it stands up to the test of time in the future.

Nice writeup Marcus I will be interested to see how these work out after extended time on the water. Maybe Alan will get his hands on one and do one of his great tear down posts so we can all see the internal workings etc.

Thanks for the review Marcus, looking to pick one up and I wanted to get the low down from someone who actually put it to work before I stretched my alligator arms. The lever drag on this reel is the ticket!

Dang Bro, I caught the link from the Avet thread. After reading it though, I think you'll have to change your name to "Tour Guide Barbi." Good info. You make me want one for 40lb.

Well, i picked up a Talica 10 today but may be a while before i get to put it to the test. I loaded mine with 65lb spectra to the top.
Going to just use a short leader of Floro to the hook.

I'd say no but for a reason.

The saltist is a low end 2-speed that is supposed to compete with Avets.

The Talica is a higher end 2-speed that is going to compete with both Avet and Accurate.

Yes they are both small 2-speed reels but I believe they are in different classes.

Well i went to the bay to see how it cast. Talica 10 loaded with 65lb Power pro to the top. 3 ft piece of 40lb mono.
Mounted on an 800m with lite weight rollers, I was tossing a 7x lite.
I could'nt believe the distance i was getting.

The Talica can cast as good as my Saltigas!!!! Thats about as good as it gets. And this is a lever drag. Unreal!!! Can't wait to fish it!!!
