The following is strictly a rumor and I don't like to gossip, but this is what I heard. Apparently there was a somewhat secretive winner take all side raffle held late at night in which about 600lbs of Grade A beef went up for grabs. The actual winner, who preferred to remain anonymous, stepped up and generously donated his winnings to the warriors after a brief period of sobriety. At least one warrior had to be restrained from gouging out his eyes after some errant headlights illuminated one prize doing something called the butt shake. I hear that he is doing much better now, but still fears beef. Several other warriors opted to swim several miles offshore and tread water until morning after the prizes attempted to back up on them. Again, just a rumor, however it is said that, after seeing the pic below, several Marines agreed that it was a good day to be treading water and possibly swim a little further.

Sure seems like somebody dropped the ball here - repeatedly.

Just an observation from an uninvolved observer.

Hope you get it straightened out.

One marine That rode with me was a "swimmer" the night before and had a pretty nasty gash in his hand . Both marines were extremely hung over. One was a female, they had nowhere to stay after the BBQ so I got her and her friends a hotel room, The swimmer passed out in his truck. They were very nice young people and I think they would have had a much better time if this was done a little differently. I'm thinking next time around it might be worth considering having festivities after fishing..........
So they could at least have the potential of having a nice day on the water...and save the hangover for shore.

I know I know I'm getting old

Whens the next trip....Count us in regardless of all the drama! We had a great time during both of our times involved. Unfortunatly, we always run long so we dont get back in time for all the give-aways! Both of our marines decked fat albacore so that was enough "prize" for us!

All right! Randy just volunteered to organize the next Wounded Warrior event! Tell us when it is scheduled so we can all observe how perfectly you organize the event! You just went from univolved to involved!

Well Maggie he was released from the hospital 2 weeks ago after spending 9 weeks in ICU. He was sent to a rehab type place to learn to breath, talk and walk again and is doing OK at the present time. He has to go through a "TEE" scan which will show the vegative growth on his right heart valve as a result of the MRSA. His blood tests are showing very good numbers indicating the MRSA is under control so we are waiting for the scan to see if he needs to have his chest opened up and the valve removed. Thanks again for your concern and will let you know final details when I get them....Thanks Ed!

Has this been resolved yet? If not I am not doing a damn thing this Saturday and will be more than happy to drive up and pick up prizes for the guys in Tem. Mur. and San Diego. I was not involved in the actual trips but figure I could help out on making people happy. Let me know if I can help.
