I have been using Berkley since it was first developed for salt h20 and trial tested on the Qualifier 105 when Don Sansome was the owner. Very consistent and strong. All the major mono companies make great fishing lines with slightly different characteristics. Most importantly is the manner in which way you take care of the storage of your bulk spools, make sure they are in a cool, dark place. Secondly and maybe more importantly is how you treat your mono while fishing. If you don't pay attention to the abuse you have given your mono after every fish and every tangle, don't blame the mono. Stretched line in the last 10 to 50 feet, nicks (feel your line on the way in) from the boat, other fish and or tangles are all high on the list of causes for mono failure. In all honesty when the bite is on and I am using heavier test line I will at times continue to use line way past the point where I should strip some off line and retie a hook. Just can't listen to my own advise. With light line fishing and slow fishing I am much more attentive. Good luck!!!!!!!!!
