Has anyone got an opinion about these boots? I have been wearing the short xtratuff boots, but they hurt my feet after 3-4 hours. Thanks, Steve

Other than they look incredibly gay I've heard they are pretty nice.
Get a good set of insoles for your x-tra tuffs. I did and can stand in them all day now. They are so much more comfortable now I would wear them all the time if they weren't covered in fish blood.

Marcus do you mean extra insoles? my tuffs came with a pad, and my back actually feels better when i wear em.

Gel insoles are the way to go.

Other than my 17 y/o daughter not wanting to be standing nearby whenever I wear them they are great :-)
The comfort factor at my age is more important than the style/looks. Besides once your on the boat its only your buddies jokes you need to deal with!

That was my first impression; that they were totally dorky looking. However, I need comfortable shoes when I am going to be on my feet for 6-8 hours. I rarely sit down when I'm on my boat. I'm going to get some different insoles. I ordered the Breathe-o-Prene insoles that Xtratuff recommends, but they don't have any arch support. Thanks, Steve

Thanks, Steve | The key is to find the insoles that work best for you. I can't remember the brand I currently have in my boots but they are comfy. Standing in them all day doesn't even bother me anymore.

think about switching to boating shoes, like the newer models of topsiders. I did, and they are way more comfortable. I dont like my feet to be hot and sweaty in rubber boots. when my feet get wet in the topsiders (or Keenes), they dry quickly because of the drainage holes in the soles and the mesh and holes in the uppers.

I have a pair of Sperry Barracuda Deck Shoes and they kick ass...
Great support, breathable and excellent traction.

Evairs are the best fucking fishing shoe/boot I have ever worn. No gel insoles needed and light as a feather. I am going on my 3rd year of heavy use and they show almost no signs of wear. They look gay as hell but who cares.
