Open season on Albies?

Hey u tuna fanatics, i was wondering when the albies really start to bite, im not talking about 100 miles out there, i mean about 50miles offshore... Last season i cant really remember when they started to bite.......

05 albie season

Usally the sportboats dont start targeting albies until the end of May to the first week of June--

Plenty going on, and the internet is your friend. Last I heard the Yellowtail were happening up your way. The Coronados down here are off & on all year round for Yellowtail. Don't forget Mexican rockfish. WSB are gonna start soon.

This is not a bad time of year to fish. Light loads & if ya watch the counts you can jump in on a good bite.

Cripes, if I had to wait till next June to fish...

Edit: If ya don't already have your "regular" boats, now is a good time to get "known" by the crews. Then ya can be one of the "regulars" the tourists bitch about getting the good baits, etc.

Well said fishslayer. Its easy to get to know people right now. The counts are decent if you know what your doing you can get something to pull on the end of the line.

I agree. If we had more boats out there hunting down these things, we could monitor where they are moving to and there would be more caught. Not many boats out hunting this time of year.
