A kick ass rod holder.

I picked up 2 of these a couple years ago, they really work well, the lines keep from getting tangled during transport to and from the lake, and if frees up your hands to carry the tackle box, net, cooler, etc.

I have one too. Its ok, the bottom base needs some padding. The hard plastic is prone to scratches. Made more for fresh water then salt water.

Yep, I use them for fresh water only.
I keep the rods in them even when I get home.
Here is a picture of them in the bow of the boat.
I have one that I keep my trolling rods in & one I have my bait rods in.

that is where the padding comes in, sorry B, had to go there with that opening.

I found that a filet mignon, lobster tail and a fine bottle of cabernet usually makes the mounting a bit easier.

Those were lifeguard trunks, not dolphin shorts. If you spent 2 weeks camping on the beach during August at the East Cape, they made life real simple.
