| This Sucks
I have been in Alaska for almost 2 months now, and not fishing, the rivers are frozen over, and the ocean fisheries have pretty much packed up and went on vacation, all these posts are making me miss Cali, but you better just wait, when the season comes, I will be posting some bitchen pics that'll make yourself sick, wanting to come here to Alaska, fish for some REAL butts and lings, I showed some pictures to some people I have met up here, from the board, and they said "YOU ACTUALLY KEEP THOSE SIZE HALIBUT AND LINGS", I got pissed, and told them with the way we are regulated, it is hard to get anywhere, anymore, with the depth limits and such, but I cannot wait to get some of the AK fish, and post it on here, I am afraid I will end up like the rest of Alaskans, up here, and saying, that aint shit, but I remember the way we are regulated in Cali, so, I am hoping my state of mind does not change...........
with all the regulations, that are there, I really hope that you guys get a chance to come up here and visit me, and get in on some good fishing.................

Terri, I'm going to try, hope we can hook up, I've got to get into one of them 150-200 pounders, plus some Salmon and Trouphy Trout they have up there. Keep warm, and take it easy on that snowmobile......

sure thing Gary, and the snow machines are "UNREAL", they look too tempting out in the yard, so even if I spark em up just ride down the road, is good enough for me, and I am safe, ordered myself a helmet for them, I am gonna be looking good with the BD stickers and the BD jacket I am getting, once people see me, I am hoping that people from up here, will take a looksy at what BD has to offer, who knows, after everyone has their stickers and jackets, it may becoeme nationwide, wouldnt that be a kick??????

Terri,
Now that there is someone up there to scope out the best charters and locations, I'm sure a couple of us are going to get the urge to come up that way. I've always wanted to go on an Alaska trip, but can never find someone that has the time or the money. Once your spring posts start coming in, I'm definetely going to get the urge.

Where abouts you at in Alaska??? You'll have a blast as soon as things thaw. I've only fished Ship creek in Anchridge and the Kenai for king salmon and Deep Creek for butts. Fished with Irish Lord Charters on the Kenai and Deep creek. Best for me was a 48" long and 32" girth est. 50 to 60# king on the Kenai and a 82# butt. Both faught like mad !!! Never liked the cold but after our trip about 4yrs ago I cant wait to get back sometime in the future. Deffinetly a unforgetable experiance.

I am in Anchor Point, on the Kenai Peninsula, about 15 miles north of Homer
My house is about a mile from the Anchor River where the steel head, salmon, and dolly vardens are caught, its like fly fishing disneyland on weekends, when the river is not frozen over

Thats a beautiful area. I'm sure you cant wait for the spring thaw and the 24 daylight to come. Once things warm up you'll be posting enough pics for us to wish we where up there with ya. Giant butts ,lings, salmon and trout , lucky dog !!!!! You just have to survive the winter.
