The areas that these Whale hunters can actually do their thing is very limited as opposed to what they used to be able to. I have a little research experience involved with blues in particular and am no means a greenpeacer.I do believe that as quickly as the numbers are diminishing of these whales and the methods that are used nowadays, that it should be banned.Blubber and other products that are made from whales and byproducts of whaling can easily be replaced by man made and agricultural oils. Very few people eat it or use it for oil anymore because its so hard to refine. If they used traditional methods of whaling for feeding poor communities like it used to be, and not for commercial use, I wouldnt have too much problem.Despite what the shows tell us,they really only use about half of the whale that they catch, the rest gets dumped.Pretty wasteful to me for being the largest creatures on earth!

After reading the other thread about the show i became intrigued so i watched one episode, the one where the "hostages" were taken and the small craft was out of radio contact for a long time. One thing i noticed is that the enviros usually have a little smirk on their faces regarding their practices. Its like they are playing a game. I wasnt overly impressed with the show. I think i have all the episodes in my DVR now and will give it another try. The Japanese fleet is showing too much restraint IMO.

I think they are fucking idiots. They don't know about boating. Did you see when they launched the inflatable the first time? Almost killed about 4 of them. at first I was excited and I wanted to see it, but now they come off as childish jerks. I want to hunt the pirates that are taking the oil tankers. I need to kill.

Been watching for a few weeks. All whale politics aside. Those people have no buisness being on the water. Some crazy captain, a douche first mate, and your garden variety of tree hugging, granola, birkenstock wearing hippie fags, I love to watch it in hope's that all the people on board will die in a horrible fire and just before they burn to death they are quenched by freezing water and suffer a long drowing death. Other than that it's mello and I really don't mind the show.

This is what happens when you give some city hippies a boat. No respect for the laws of the sea. If fishing legaly and it looks like the Japenese are and you board a boat without permission that is piracy and they should be arressted. They are lucky the Whaling ship didn't toss them in the ocean
They then send a small boat out when its almost dark to attack the same ship, lose the small boat... then they do not immediatly wake the Captain.
No respect for chain of command. In that emergency situation the Captain must take control of the bridge. Pull that shit here and you better find a new job.
I AM AGAINST WHALING, but everyone must respect the rules of sea and other goverments.
