Fish limits???

I've been reading some reports that have me perplexed.

What is the limit on Do-dos in Mexican and Calif waters? I thought 2 for both waters.

How about for Albies (not that it matters now that they're gone).

...and last but not least...how 'bout them skippies???

Mucho thanks in advance,
Limits

2 in Mex, 10 in CA on the Dodos.

5 for Albies in Mex, actually no limit in CA unless they change it soon as rumours have it.

Who cares about Skipshit.

Skips can be used for hoop fishing those lobster. They are nice and juicy.

Thanks for the 411

Funny you should mention skippies for the hoopnets...

Thats what I was thinking. They're big enough so they don't fall through the netting and less time wasted rebaiting the nets.

I think I'll have to give it a shot..

First...Gotta go fishin'!!

Here's the part that perplexes me, if anyone would care to elaborate...

I understand that the Mex. limit for Dorado is 2 per day... but in terms of the overall Mex. limit of 10 fish per day, how many more fish can you catch if you have 2 Dorado. Is it...

A) 1 Dorado = 5 fish and 2 Dorado = 10 fish (ie. can't keep anything else)... So 1 Dorado + 5 random fish = Mex. Limit or 2 Dorado and done.

or

B) 2 Dorado = 5 fish (as counted toward overall limit of 10 per day) so you can limit on Dorado and still keep 5 others.

The more I read the more I think it's B but a lot of people seem to think it's A. Plus there's some other species with a special count consideration besides Dorado but I can't come up with it right now so disregard that when I say '5 other fish' etc.

The Mexican exceptions - Marlin/sail/sword limits is 1 per day. Shark, roosterfish, shad, and tarpon (good luck finding one of these!) and dordo is 2 per day.

Though you can catch/release any unharmed billfish in excess of your one fish limit.
