Trolling live deans you should be going very slow: 1-2 knots. Basically just put the boat in gear.
For offshore trolling feathers or rapallas, you should be doing 6-8 knots.

Joe, when slow trolling dines, just put the boat in gear, there is no such thing as too slow

6-8 knots for feathers and ceder plugs. 4-5 knots for rapalas and yozuries. 1.5 knots max for dines.

When you get bit hit the trottle. 20knots and 100 yards should do it.

You didn't have one. That one is mellow compared to the one I have saved for the next member.

You want your trolling feathers to breath a little bit.Different size lures determine the speed they will skip at.Speed and distance from the boat has to be adjusted along with sea conditions. You dont want your rigs to skip on the water, just slighty breaking the water to leave a bubble trail.
