Found these pics of some of my first fish. I can still remember my first trip with my dad. He is holding the other Yellow Fin Tuna in the pic. I grew up fishing fresh and salt water off NJ. Im sure you all would agree, that first fish was awesome.
very cool. Im trying to get my uncle to send me some pics of my 1st. He had me in the bay in that lil boat in my avater ever since I could walk and when my mom would let him!
Thanks guys! I owe my love for fishing to my dad. He taught me everything. I have a 3 year old girl now and She is not interested in fishing yet. Ive got one on the way too. Im hoping its a boy so I can pass down this great sport to him, or her. who ever! Ive got more pics to share . just didnt want too get carried away. more to come.

Welcome to the assylum Steve and get that lil girl of yours out fishing, chicks can fish too !
My Grand dad...1943... With my very first fish...a Nebraska muddy river carp...Kerncat's first fish...That's 65 years of bloodying decks..and still going strong..He used to catch cat fish in the river and put them in the stock watering tank..they would swim around and eat the alge and food residue from the cattle that watered and when he wanted cat fish for dinner, he'd go get one...all the muddy flavor was gone and the stock tanks were always clean..then he'd go get another one from the river...Sort of like "low tech tuna pens"..
Hey Kerncat. Thats a great photo. I love the old black and whites. one of my favorite things to do is read the "looking a stern" section in the back of Pacific Coast Sportfishing Magazine. I always open it and go straight to that. I wish I could have fished in Socal in the days of tuna in the bay. Oh well maybe in another life. More pics to follow.
