Whats the best way to rig them? I'm assuming you don't straight tie.

Wire, wire, wire...

Hate to lose them if and when the Hoo show up.

7-Strand wire depending on the size of the lure with a barrel swivel and tie to that. If there's interest I'll post up how to do it.

Always use 400# sevenstrand with crimps.....Hoo's love um. I have a couple that are so jacked up and still get hammered. It seems the more there hit the more they like um!

Most tackle shops sell pre made 36 inch wire leader harnesses for all types of trolling lures. You can get them from 90 pound wire up to 400 pound wire for about $6 bucks each. They come rigged with a barrel swivel on one end and a clip at the other so you can swap out trolling lures quickly without having to retie.

But why bother, the things don't work anyways...

400# 49 strand wire, double crimped at both ends, 275-400# barrel or bearing swivel, and put a McMahon (squeezer) swivel on the end that connects to your jig. For extra trick find a piece of black plastic tubing to snug up up over the squeezer once its attached to your jig. Now you have a well rigged heavy wire leader system in place and you can quickly inter-change marauders, feathers, japs heads, whatevs. Rigging up each feather and marauder no longer makes sense. Just rig a few leaders and your reat' to go. If you rig them all, they will oxidize and rust over time, and will need to all be re-done.. Tackle stores will love you, for obvious reasons.

It only took me 16 years to learn that.

I similar question about the Braid Blackjack. I bought one of these lures because it looked good enough for me to eat. I figure this is for school sized tuna. How to rig it? Here is the pic.
