fished 4/19/08 and 4/20/08

My buddy Gilbert and my self went fishing to seal beach in the bay. We hit the dock at 6 am and head straight to the bait receiver. We got $15 worth of bait from Nacho very cool guy. We went back to the bay and started fishing Gilberts hooks ups and its a short halibut it was 21 1/2 we caught like 8 or 9 that were short by half inch. There was a lot of fish but every thing was that we were catching was short. We decided to start slow troll a sardine and bang I get hooked up to a nice halibut 30 inches. Got tired of trolling and anchored about 100 yards from the bridge Gilbert hooks up to something big and he fights it for awhile and it spits the hook. I cast out and take a few cranks of the reel the tip of my rod goes down hard and I am on to something big I was using 8lb test it took me about 15 minutes to get the beast to the boat Gilbert tries to gaff it and its the halibut in the hard part of the head and makes it fly into the air about 2 feet and I thought to myself buy buy It was still there and bought it back up and he gaffed it in the head the second time . so total for the day was 3 bass, 2 halibut 1 30 inches 1 42 inches and 20 released halibut all in all it was a good day. enjoy

Very nice - congrats - HH has been giving up some big flatties lately around the bridge and fuel dock.

I was coming in on Friday and watched a yak weigh a 28lber...
