Tuna, Tails, Dorado still around!

The temperature break on the South West side of the 60 Mile Bank has been the area most fished the past 4 days. Bluefin, Albacore, Yellowfin, Yellowtail, a couple Dorado and lots of Skipjack still in the area.
The Bluefin are running 20-30lbs and are sitting around 60-100 feet under the boat. It takes some chum to get them up.
As the Full moon comes out of phase some of the pro's we talk to here at Fishdope are saying these fish should come up and chew again.

The Hidden Bank to the 390 is a closer zone to home that has kicked out Albacore, Yellowfin, Yellowtail and some Dorado along with the pesty Skipjack.

The water temps are stable and the fish are scattered about but hardly anyone is fishing it.

It's by no means wide open, every boat gets fish type fishing. If you are in the right place at the right time and your ducks are in a row a score of 20+ Quality fish is obtainable.

One of our regular Fishdope boats wants to end the season with a bang. Originally this was just for Fishdope members but he has agreed to offer Bloodydecks members this discount as well.

Rich on the Tailwalker Tailwalker Sportfishing
He wants to run for the tuna at the 60 and Mushroom as the fishing should be getting better offshore.
He's willing to run any day this week for $200 a head (Normally $350 a head) up to 4 anglers (2 minimum).

If I may I would like to add my two cents here on what I think got us bit on the blue fin most.
1. The more bait in the water the better the chances are the tuna will come up. Fish with other boats that are willing to chum.
2. Use lite line 20 pound with fluorocarbon. 15 pound is better.
3. Small circle hooks 1/0 Owner thin wire hooks
4. Turn off your motor, only if you are sure it will start again.
5. No loud noises on the boat no banging around sound transmits through water twice as far as through air maybe more.
GOOD LUCK IF YOU GO.

All good stuff, Jason. An old fart like me has seen a lot of El Ninos, strong, weak, and otherwise pass under the bow and I for one believe that there are going to be plenty of fish available for months more. That is what historically has happened. And just as historically, many fishermen quit fishing and miss the best action of the year. Maybe the tropicals will head back down south, but I'll bet that the bluefin and albacore fishing (bigeyes too), will get better as the Fall goes on.

And I absolutely agree on that moon thing. It's regular as clockwork...we get into the full, people just keep "fishing as usual", and get their asses handed to them. Then they start saying that the fishing is over for the year, when actually there's a helluva lot of great fishing left.

Kudos to Rich on Tailwalker! That's a smart guy who loves to fish and take people fishing and have them catch fish and he proves it by offering such a good deal. That's exactly the kind of charter captain that I'd fish with in a heartbeat! Catch 'em up, Rich!

Thanks for the accurate input, Jason.
