True, If you don't mind getting it all wet and smeared. GPS plotting is pretty easy, and more precise. I would recommend GPS. Can't mess it up.

They are water proof.....no smear.....also if you have guests on board they can see ....in relation to land where they are....and if by chance your gps goes out .....you have some good info there.....

FYI for those who would like the waypoints and have garmin units, check the begining thread. Open up the file in mapsource and then load to your units.

Garrett, take a look at the bottom contour lines on the chart to see why they are named that way. BTW, the Condom Bank=Mushroom Bank...

You guys might want to take a look a little northeast of the long wing of the butterfly...the tip of the condom, (reservoir), can be seen there. I believe it's aka the 267 but don't have a chart with me to verify right now. I can't believe you don't see a butterfly or mushroom...airplane...maybe not.

No disrespect Phil. Don't see why you took my post that way. I figured it was your thread so I'd let you explain why the banks are named what they are. The Condom Bank is a real bank. As is the sniffer, elephant, pistol, animal, kidney, etc.

Question Mapsource

Thank you for posting the zip of your waypoints. I currently live in Utah but I'm planning a trip to SoCal next week and would like some good waypoints. When I lived in SoCal my old boat just had loran and now I've moved to GPS. I have a Garmin 3210 but I'm not sure how to load the waypoints. You said to use mapsource but when I download the software it tries to find a previous version of mapsource to upgrade but there isn't one so it just quits. I know this may sound silly but what do I need to do to get this to work if you don't mind my asking?

Thanks so much in advance!
