News Halibut fishing has been good!

Yesterday I took my client Mark out on his 26 ft Skipjack, "My Girl". Mark wanted to learn some spots on the coast. He had been fishing for the past 20 years along the California coast and just wanted to pinpoint a few spots and better learn his electronics.

We stopped at the bait barge to see what kind of bait they had. Jeff said they were out of bait but since my family owns the bait barge he could give me a scoop and a half of anchovies. So it was off to the red buoy at Dana Point to catch some Spanish mackerel. They were biting really well and we put 25 in the bait tank in about ten minutes. Then we took off down south to look for conditions to fish sea bass. There were no conditions to be found so I told Mark we could fish for some halibut until somebody told me they found some conditions (captain's on the sport boats in Dana Point) they would let me know what they found. So we went to a spot off of San Onofre were I used to catch halibut. It was pretty wide open. We ended up with five legal halibut, a 37, 22, 12 & two 8 pounders.

I don't hear EGO, I hear MARKETING. I'm sure there are newbies who could benefit from his services and he is clearly pitching his services.

Dave's been working up & down this coast for more years than most.
The knowledge he has & does pass along is invaluable & the service he provides is legit.

A lot of very uninformed spouting off all over this site lately?

Ain't that the truth. More newbies = more dickweeds.

See the username in Green? These are the people that are supporting BD via sponsorship... Dave's family owns Dana Point, Orange County Whale Watching Trips, Sportfishing Charters & Cruises in Southern California (CA) Dave runs sportboats for other landings as well. He enjoys teaching people how to use their boats and how to find fish. Looks to me as if he is doing a very good job.

Also. Dave is one of the nicest guys in sportfishing. Complete goof ball, never has anything bad to say about anyone. Some of the "in crowd" hates him because of this and trys to bad mouth. Dave shurgs it off and keeps fishing 5-6 days a week...

Nice slabs you have there Dave!
