Hey gang I just got back from Cabo last night and the fishing down there is great right now.... I was with a buddy and his new wife of 4 months. He is a non fisherman, so this trip was not about fishing and it was his first time to Cabo, so I had to show him around a bit...

We got out for one day of fishing and it was great!! They are catching big ones out at Gordo Banks up in the Sea of Cortez, but that can be a boring day for non-fishing people, so I took my friend down to Palmilla Beach up towards San Jose to do a little recon.

The fishing on small yellow fin and Dorado and even a few Whahoo had been great, and they start fishing within 1/4 mile of the beach.... I have taken boats out of Cabo just to have them take me on a boat ride up to San Jose, so I have learned to go to where the fish are and save three hours of boat ride to and from Cabo.

The 28' cruiser was out of the new Marina in San Jose, but they came down and picked us off the beach. We had the boat till 2:00. We got loaded and started fishing and had steady action until 11:30 when we decided to quit....

Great day we lost several fish due to the gear and green fisherman, but it was still a great time. Finished the day with 7 dorado, 8 Yellow Fin Tuna, one long line release of a Marlin, severl bonita, and a couple of whahoo cut offs....

Took the fish to the restaraunt and had a feast of our lives!!!! No pics, they are on my friend's camera and he gets home tomorrow....

Peace!

Thanks to all that help make the OTC what it is. Here's a post from Ifish announcing the dates for the 2010 OTC events.

Official Oregon Tuna Classic dates for 2010 - www.ifish.net

"The OTC is happy to announce that Ron Brockmann, a Allstate Agent with offices in Corvallis and Salem and IWISH on ifish, is the title sponsor for the 2010 season. Ron was the major portion of the sponsorship in 2009 and we are very grateful for his committment to these events and the cause.
We feel very fortunate to have a title sponsor who not only gives of his financial resources but someone who is involved as well. Ron was on a team last year that fished all the events and when he had time was helping with the setup and take down on those weekends.

The dates for next summers events are as follows:

Newport......July 17th.
Ilwaco........July 31st.
Charleston..Aug. 14th.
Garibaldi.....Aug. 28th.

We will stage the events in a big tent like we used this past summer and the Garibaldi event will be the season finale and will again include a silent auction as well as a oral auction...If you missed this then you missed a lot of excitement and a good time as witnessed by over 500 hundred people who were there.

For those that made the events in 2009 we thank you for supporting the cause and hope to see you again in 2010.

We are currently renewing and securing our sponsors for the upcoming season.

We will have a booth in the Eugene Sportshow in February on the 5th, 6th & 7th and again in The Pacific Northwest Sportshow in Portland on February 10th-14th. We will also be opening the registrations during that time and you will be able to come by the booth and sign up.

In the next couple weeks we will give you more information and update our website.

Thank you for your patience and your support.

Del Stephens
OTC Chairman "

River levels were getting low by the end of the day but were at least fishable today. With rain in our future, there should be a few more of these showing up.....

Book a trip today if you are interested in an opportunity to bonk one of these.

Hey guys,

A while back I picked up a nice 1 acre piece of land off East Devils Lake Rd right as you enter the North End of Lincoln City accross from the golf course...

It is a gently sloped 1 acre parcel that has beeb cleared, there are a couple of slash piles that need to be burned or hauled away. It is a nice rectangle and is not to steep the whole property is usable, and would make a nice homesite with room for a shop/boat garage.

My plans have changed a little, so I am consolidating some of my stuff.

If anyone has ever wanted a coast property this one would make a nice vacation or permanent home site. $150K

Call me at: 503-991-0439
