So I'm headed back to the launch ramp last night after getting skunked again and noticed that when I adjusted my trim tabs the deck light would go dim and go back to normal once I let go of the trim tab switch. I was running both batteries and according to my volt gauge I was running approx 13-14 volts. The instrument lights would also go dim whenever I would press on the trim tab switch or turn something else on.

Any ideas what may be causing the problem?

I have not calibrated the fuel flow reading my F210 and was wondering........

While heading out Sunday morning I noticed that the reading on the meter were pretty erratic (see pictures) 4000rpm = 10 gph, 3900 rpm=7gph.......can 1000 rpm really make that much of a difference? I believe that the factory setting are set to read fuel flow average every 10 seconds, I'll adjust it to 15 and see what it does. Anyone else have the same issue before calibrating the meter?

Another thing that I noticed was that the gph was much better whenever there was very little chop in the water, managed to see it go as low as 5gph at 3700rpm. Is that right?

Well I just got back from WM and bought a new Icom M504 and the Shakespear 5225XP antenna. Couldn't find the problem with the old radio so I didn't want to risk it. Questions now. Where to put the new radio. The old one was down by my knee and you couldn't see it. But the instructions on the new one say not to put it within 1 meter of the compass. Well the electrical box on the T top is directly above the compass so that's only maybe 24" away. I don't have a lot of room on top of the console and that would be too close to the compass. I think maybe I might need someone who knows what they are doing to install this. Also the radio has only one thin wire for a remote speaker while my existingradio one has two, grn and yel. Don't I need two wires for an additional speaker? I don't even want to think about hooking up the GPS right now. Anyone know of a good installer?

I have a Ray Marine 48 radio in my boat. When I put on the T top I moved the antenna to the top. It's a Shakspear 8' antenna. I also shortened the antenna cable and reattached it to the back of the radio. I cut and re soldered the connection so it's OK. Now when I transmit you can hardly hear my voice in the transmission. I had my wife listen on the hand held 100' away and she could hardly hear with the volumn turned up. I could hear her fine. I tested the radio on 1 & 25 watts and was testing on channels 68 and 72. I don't have a watt meter so I can't check the output. The radio is 3 years old and hardly ever used. Any ideas? Did I screw up the antenna cable by cutting it? I called Ray Marine and they told me to buy a new antenna and test the radio again. If that didn't fix the problem to send the radio in to them for repair. I think it would be cheaper to buy a new radio and antenna.
