Rockfish is closed on the 15, so I read that means there is a zero bag limit. Can I still fish the shallow water (less than 30 feet) ling's and rockfish as catch and release only. I just wanna still be able to have fun out there and I have absolutely no problem releasing. And furthermore if having the intent of fishing for rockfish in closed season is illegal, could i just say im fishing for halibut or something around the rockpiles. I do fish local spots and enjoy the times when people ask me, “Have you caught anything? How's the fishing?" Sometimes I answer positively; sometimes I answer "NEGATIVE GHOST RIDER!" That is fishing.
