I got home from school with my friend and we immediately headed down to Seaside/Cardiff area to go get wet. I've been antsy because I had been out of the water for over 2 weeks and I had just got some new gear. We were in the water by 3:30 and the tide was extremely low and there was NO surf. The water was a bit green and there was some surge making the visibility poor in 10 feet of water but once out in 20 feet of water the vis was perfect.

15-20 ft of vis and life every where. A lot of shorts on the edges of their holes but there were definitely a few legals out. Unfortunately I brought a gun today, (bad idea), so when I had gotten my first bug to the surface and I was about to call to my buddy for the bag, the lobster freaked out and squirmed out of my hand. I was kinda being careless but I only could have one hand on the lobster for I forgot my float line for my gun. that was partially my fault and bad luck because that was a good sized bug, oh well...
Water was awesome and a lot of life but no dinner... :(

also shot a sheepshead and as i was going to grab it from the spear it squirmed off, just like the bug

overall today was fun and was a really good dive, I'll be out tomorrow hopefully with some more luck

Did some snorkeling today in Malibu and saw a smaller mola, maybe 75 pounds, right off shore in only like 25 feet of water. It just sat down there looking up at us and would occasionaly swim up a little to check us out. We were able to swim down and pet it no problem. It was the coolest thing. I never thought in a million years i would see one of these things in shore like that. Is this a pretty common occurence around here?

Hey guys, I could use some help/advice, I'm looking at a pair of dive fins and I was wondering if any of you had any impute on this particular pair of fins I am looking at or any good fins I should look at to buy. I know a lot of you guys go hooping or scuba for bugs, but I'm just a kid and the only way I can get bugs is by diving.

I am looking at the Cressi Men's Gara 3000 LD Long Distane Long Blade Diving Fins so if any of you guys have this particular pair, should I get them? Or, do you have a favorite pair of fins
I should consider buying? Here is the link to the fins,
