Blood Drive for JoJo Jarheads wife Nov 7

Its very sad, but we're having a blood drive for Gus' wife Angie. Angie needs regular transfusions while waiting for a bone marrow transplant. Hopefully Gus can chime in about Angies illness.

For some of our newer members. We have had several blood drives for BD members or their family members. Its soo easy to do. But very important for saving peoples lives. We hope that everybody in the San Diego area can come down and help save a life.

The blood drive will be held again at the Dana Landing Market. Right next to the Dana launch ramp. This time the Market is suppling the burgers and hot dogs. But we will be suppling the sides dishes. Please PM me if you want to bring something.

Thanks all, hope to see everybody there.

Hey Guys, Jojo Jarhead (Gus) works with me and Mikeylikesit. Gus has been a BDer for several years now. He is a retired Marine who has put in several years of his time to serve our country! His wife Angie has severe aplastic anemia at a critical level. (Level 8) Her last resort right now is to have a bone marrow transplant but she is surviving on blood transfusions until her marrow transplant to keep her alive. You may have already seen Angie's face on the side of the Blood Bank vehicles as a spokesperson for the Blood Bank. She has had over 250 blood transfusions over the last 16 years and has been through chemotherapy as well. San Diego Blood Bank - Patient Stories - San Diego Blood Bank

Angie and Gus are very active in the community and have volunteered for various fundraisers such as a recent Bowl-a-thon for the Junior League raising thousands of dollars each year. They are great people and always have a positive attitude. Let's help Angie as she fights the battle of her life!

Thank you to all who are able to help! Thank you Mike for setting this up too!

p.s. for those of you who can't make this blood drive and want to credit a donation towards Angie's account, her account number with the Blood Bank is AF04 - Angie Freeman.

Again we will have blood drive shirts provided by Jason and Ali. And trolling lures for the donors, provided by Papa J. We will have more stuff to give away. I'll post it up when its confirmed.

I want to personnaly thank you all for rolling up your sleeves and getting in the fight to help save my wife! Twenty years in the Marines never prepared me for this type of battle but I know with the help, prayers and precious gift of your blood we will see this through! Semper Fi . Oh and if Angie aquires a taste for drinking beer, it's okay, I could use the help!

Update on Angie...

Gus just left my office and informed me that Angie is back in the hospital and things are very serious. She is losing a lot of blood and they are going in with serious chemo treatments right now. They are holding off on the bone marrow transplant until they can get her stronger and have to take care of various issues before they do the transplant. They have two beautiful daughters who are in their early 20s and are active in the community. This is a very tough time for this family. I really hope we can have a huge success at this blood drive to help Angie and her family. She has been fighting this for 16-17 yrs. now with blood transfusions and chemo over various timeframes and she is fighting the fight of her life right now. Please show your support and be at the blood drive.

Thank you

Thanks Kristie for donating your time, especially with all you have been through yourself. I don't know her blood type but I can find out. I hope we will have the blood mobile with Angie's picture on the side of it. That would be very cool.

Look forward to seeing you there!
