I just got back from bleeding and opened my goodie bag....... WOW you guys truly rock!!! Here is my thanks to these sponsors who gave product to this kickass event.

My thanks goes out to......

Bloodydecks - For allowing the forum to orchestrate these things, not to mention the really bad ass t-shirts that BD supplied!!

Catalina Offshore products (Tommy) - For supplying t-shirts and gift certificates.... I received both in my bag..... very cool... thanks!!

Seaforth - For supplying the beanies - I received one of these in my bag as well. Gracious!

Papa J - For supplying the blood drive with lures..... I also received one of these as well.... thanks again!!

Friends of Rollo - For supplying a free raffle ticket for the friends of Rollo drawing in which the winner will receive a F-150 truck & a new Davis Boat. Thank you!

And lastly, Dana Landing for allowing the use of the immediate area and serving up some killer burgers & hot dogs!! Thanks Steve, Johnny and the Dana Landing crew!!

The unknown fisherman

Doh.....Forgot to grab a grab bag, seems I missed a good one.........Ditto what Mike said....Thanks to ALL for the effort....I never donated blood until these started...I never realized the importance.......For those that can donate and don't, give it a try. It's not bad at all. In fact it is easy and painless...burgers are great as well.

Great job everyone! I'm just sorry that they had to turn people away. We could have had 50+ pints. Many thanks to everyone who participated in this event! Photos to follow...

It was nice to meet you Gus and again tell Angie there's more where that came from. The whole event was awesome thanks to Mike and Martha who worked the whole day and Dana Market for the venue and supplying the hot dogs and hamburgers. If you're going to give blood why not get a delicious meal, drinks and prizes instead of a cookie and some juice? (although they had that there to). Thanks to Papa J for the nice Marlin lure that was in my bag too. If you didn't make it, you missed out!!!

I would give blood because it is the right thing to do for people who need it. I dont need the crap to come down. I was there early, middle and late. Had the wife too. We both want to give blood but didnt have 2 hours to stand in line.

there was mention of the secret appointment list, at least a secret to me. I was told there was a list but you cant sign up there. Whats with that? How about if we get the information on signing up on the list before we go down next time?

If you need blood, I have O- and would be glad to give to Angie. Let me know.

Next time, bigger or two buses would be great.

I'm so sorry Phil, they were massively understaffed today and we had to turn several people away. If they'd had a technician for every bed on the bus we would have been set. Major SNAFU in that regard. There was not a secret appointment list. You can make an appointment ahead of time, but not on the day of the drive. They did give preference to people who'd made appointments. Other than that it was first come first serve, and because they were working so slowly on the bus, there was never a moment that there was no line.

For those of you who were turned away or could not make it to the blood drive: You can donate at any SDBB donation center using the code AF04 for Angie. This code only works with the San Diego Blood Bank. If you wish to donate in another city you can get a gift card for your donation which you can then make arrangements to get to Angie through Gus/jojo jarhead.

Here is a link to find a donation center nearest you:

I made an appointment on https://www.mysdbb.org/ or you can call 1-800-469-7322. It wasn't a secret, I read about it here.

Ha ha Stanley! You are confused! I am not the one who is pregnant, Dana is! (Gypsea) Just cuz I started to pass out after donating, it was not from being pregnant! I was in awe of ChupacabraMB's (Rick's) presence while talking to him that everything started spinning! If I were pregnant, that nice hoodie in size 2XL from San Pedro Bait Co in my goodie bag would definitely come in handy! It worked out great while watching the Aztec's game when it got chilly out. What really slowed the process and backed up those waiting to donate was because Wayne (Got Wasabi) wanted to see the ending of the video and was hoping to stay in there through the playing of Santa Claus 3! I caught him eye-balling the pink tape and had to turn away and pretend not to see him begging the nurse for pink as his bandage! She finally gave him pink to get him out of there! Wayne got his birthday wish!

p.s. I was NOT bleeding blue and gold! You might be a bit color blind cuz it was blue and white baby! Too bad you are going to miss the game! No worries. When the Giants win tomorrow, you can change your avatar to Eli Manning's pic for a week.

Thanks to everyone who helped organize, set-up, cook, donate prizes, donate blood and show your support for Gus, Angie and their daughters! And thanks to Jason and Ali for allowing this event to happen, promoting it and donating some very cool swag! The day was a great success!

I want to thank everybody that showed up to donate. And all the people that helped Martha yesterday. In my absents. I'd also like to thank Martha for doing a great job while I was at work. I will post a thank you thread later today.

We ended uo with a canopy that was left. Somebody please identify, so I can give it back. And NO, It doesn't say "Campbells" on it.
