Navigation lights?

my lights were working, but now are no longer working... The fuse looks fine... any suggestions? Someone recommended glowsticks for temporary lights, but are there any other options for temp? (until I can get a pro on the job) I am gonna check the bulbs tomorrow..

thanks in advance,

chris

Working nav lights is pretty easy. you can handle it all yourself, just follow and inspect wire, check any fuses, bulbs, and switches.

I'm not sure if glowsticks are going to cut it with the Harbor Patrol or Coast Guard for navigation lights. If think you need a temporary solution, then try the portable (battery operated) lights that they sell at West Marine (or other marine stores). I have a pair of bow (grn/red) and stern lights on my boat at all times. You never know when your lights can go out and they're a pretty good fix until you correct the problem.

Most likely corrosion where the bulb makes contact in its holder.Take a look at your bulb contacts.

Get the 12v tester out and start probing until you find the problem

Check the bulb, mine would work, stop work, etc, turns out the connection at the bulb, but a decent 12 volt light tester will find it fast ! I ended up replacing with a better one on top of the pilot house !

problem solved, bulb needed to be replaced... looks like the ground line was never set up to anything, so I am sure that is why it burned out... thanks for the replys..

Good deal! Trust you own abilities! "Pro' would cost you at least $50.

Buy two or three bulbs. Get some spares for the rest of your lights while you're at it!
