transducer Q

Top and bottom of my through hull transducer that I want to replace with one that will go with my new fishfinder that I don't have yet. If I unscrew the nut on the top, do I just push and it will come out the bottom? Or is it better to leave the old one in place and then put in a completely new settup?

Re: transducer Q

I recognise that thing It was in better shape when I had it. I would take that thing out and put a new one in, If the new one is a different size, I would still remove that old one and fill the hole and start over. There's a good chance the new one might slide right in there.
So, How's my old girl doing anyway?? Did the guy I sold it to fuck it up real bad?? It was a good runnig boat when I sold it

Re: transducer Q

I used it some last year a few times but planned on rebuilding it. So, I got a new engine dressed and ready to go in. I bought a new upper outdrive and just got that married to the old lower. I'm rebuilding the bellows, just waiting on a shift cable and I'll finish that. I've got a heat exchanger and a plan to install that. She's got a new shifter, getting a new exhaust downtube. Couple more weeks and I get to break her in. I love the boat so I'm spending a lot of time and money on it. So, to answer your Q, she's doing good but sits in my driveway a lot. I plan to fish the shit out of it this season. I'm not sure if I'll get to the bait tank install and bigger fuel capacity this season. Forgot to mention, she's now called "The Morning Wood"
