I have the Raymarine Sport Pilot Plus and have had it for 6 years, I love this thing! I have never had a problem with the unit. The only thing that was frustrating was the half moon metal key. I would not fit into to my steering keyway on the steering shaft. My boat was fabricated in British Colombia (metric?) and the raymarine unit I believe is British fabricated (metric) so I don't know why I had this problem.

I eventually after trying to file it (mistake), had it milled to the proper thickness.

I usually fish with just one other person on the boat. It is great to have the pilot when landing a fish on the run. One guy on the net and one on the rod.....boat keeps heading straight. Or for long hauls, not being trapped behind the wheel for the duration!

A must have for me!

My Garmin works fine and will troll different patterns once I reach the fishing grounds.
