How do I go about interphasing my GPS to my sounder? I have a Garmin 182 & a Furuno 600 L.

Do you have the NMEA Cable for the 600L? If not you'll have to get one of those, it's part# 000-117-603

The 600L has the bitchin nav screens, which is probably what your after.

On the Garmin the blue wire is NMEA OUT and the brown wire is NMEA IN. So you want go out from the Garmin "blue" to the Furuno IN which is either the Green or the yellow wire, pretty sure it's the green that you want. Connect those two wire and see if your getting the Nav screen input. Sometimes you have to mess around with it a little to get it to work.

You can also connect the "Brown" wire from the Garmin which is MNEA IN to either the Black or White wire NMEA OUT on the 600L and you should get your water temp on the Garmin screen.

I have my stuff all talking to each other it's pretty cool.

If you have a DSC radio I'm pretty sure the 182 will show you position data on the plotter screen from a DSC call.

Make sure you have everything set up right on the Garmin menu and also in the 600L menu to receive NMEA from the 182.
