Oregon Inlet Trip 10/27

Fished on Oct. 27 with Elson Myers on the Outer Limits out of Pirates Cove Marina Manteo, NC. Caught a good break in the weather and were able to scrap out a great catch despite a slow bite. Capt. Elson fished us a little longer than he had to and it paid off as the bite turned back on later that afternoon. Total that day was 15 Yellow Fin Tuna 35-50lb range. I know this is a west coast website but hopefully I won't catch too much shit for posting a few pics of a few east coast tuna. Although they don't match the size of those Cow's Capt. JT is working on in PV, they damn sure hit the spot that night with a little soy and wasabi!

Man, I sure do miss fishing out of Oregon Inlet as well as Hatteras. Looks like pretty good weather, too.

How warm was the break you guys were fishing?

Post all you can. I personally would love to see the difference between the East Coast and West Coast Fishing.

To be honest not sure what the temp was, left all that up to Capt. Elson, we were just crankers and beer drinkers that day. We did get some pretty weather for the day, that night winds kicked up 35-40kts, the house we were staying in at pirates cove was shaking.

Re: Oregon Inlet Trip 10/27

Nice batch of Yellow Fin Tuna there. I'd like to try some right coast fishing someday. Not trying to be an asshat but why sit down when fighting them?
