All DAC and IGFA angling rules apply.
One weighed fish entry per angler
You MUST SUBMIT a clean 15’ sample of the line used to catch the fish

Fished the Dana Angling Club Halibut tournament this weekend. Started off fishing North of the harbor drifting the 3 Arch Bay area for a couple of raked baits and a few Sandbass and a Sculpin metered allot of fish but the action was pretty slow. Decided to try a shallow spot I know off of Capo Beach and managed this guy on a swimbait.




I was feeling pretty good at the end of the day with the word sounding like I had the only legal of the day fish went 10# even at the fuel dock and was caught on 8# IGFA mono.

Well as usual when fishing with this class of anglers it's not over untill the final weigh in Sunday evening.

Sunday was a new day and I started off thinking I was doing OK untill I heard the radio chatter and talk of a big butt hanging!



Turns out Rodger caught this 26 pounder on 4# test raking in the points and knocking me out of the top spot. Later on I hear talk of another 20# plus butt being taken. Wow great day for the Butts on Sunday. All we could manage on Sunday was a shark and a few bass. Wil have to wait for all the weigh slips to be sent in to see if I was able to hang onto the 3rd place spot.
