Costa Rica The Marlin fishing/inshore wide open

The Coastside Fishing club was down to the lodge with 24 anglers for 3 days of fishing plus one optional day. I have to tell you that due to el nino fishing was slow this past season but fishing has finally picked up. The first day was optional so with 5 boats out fishing inshore a total of 18 rooster were caught one big amber jack and various other jacks.

Re: Costa Rica The Marlin fishing/inshore wide open

On day two most of the boats went offshore. We fished 12 boats and raised a total of 9 marlin with none of them landed which totally sucked but at least we knew they were there. The fleet ended the day with 15 sails and 8 dorado's being landed

Re: Costa Rica The Marlin fishing/inshore wide open

Day four was totally off the hook our new boats showed up the day before a 32 and 36 twin vee. I spent the whole day rigging the boats so the coastside group could use them for at least one day. I was the mate on the 36 we raised and caught one marlin in the 150-185lb range. My partner was on the 32 and fished part of the day inshore he and three others caught 15 snappers 6 roosters and various other jacks and one mackerel. They then proceeded offshore where they hooked a 350lb marlin which was lost 5 minutes into the fight with a broken leader. The rest of the fleet caught 5 marlin 7 sails and 2 roosters.

It was a great trip and the best fishing at the lodge since I purchase it in October. The next picture is my partners wife waiting for a bite on our new boat. The last picture is one of the locals waiting for a hand out.

Stoked bro...some awesome shots there...we are all just getting pretty spoiled to call that kind of fishing slow!!!! Looks like some spectacular marlin fishing there...big sails, roosters, hot chicks and crocs...no, i don't mean the shoes...

What, may i ask...IS NOT TO LIKE ABOUT THAT!!!!

Good luck with the operation Gregg and i'll look forward to the day we get to share a cold one together...keep the reports coming!!! Always stoked to see what's going on out there!!!
