Hey Tony great pictures. I am planning on going to Panama in March 08. Are these locations close to the city (panama city)? Is march a good month for fishing/ Also my kids may want to go and you mentioned something about a good surfing spot nearby the fishing grounds. Thank you for help.

Re: Tuna Coast, Panama w/pics

Rick, check the other thread I responded to this morning "Pedasi, Panama" and that will provide some information. Yes, March is a good month on the Tuna Coast especially for cherna (grouper) and a variety of snappers that come in close to shore due to the cooler water at that time. I also have some openings for a trip I'm hosting on the Coral Star March 15-20, 2008 (see "Join Me In Panama").

The Pedasi area is about a 4-5 hour drive from Panama City. There are several good to great surfing spots such as at Playa Venado. Some of the locals can show you around like Augusto "Pimply" Lopez who owns the B&B at Ciruelo Beach and was a competitive surfer.

Re: Tuna Coast, Panama w/pics

Hey Tony! Great article and pics. Thanks for sharing.

I go to Pesca Panama at least once a year. We're heading down there again January 4. Panama is by far my favorite fishing destination on the planet.

Thanks again !!
