Panama Trip: Updated 12/30/07 (New Construction Pics)

ITS A LONG ONE BOYZ>>>AND I SUCK SO IT IS IN LIKE 8 PARTS............................................. .................................................. .....

Well just got back from the third trip to Panama since January and decided to make a half way decent post (hopefully)....

Started out delayed from Raleigh Durham NC and also due to this started out drinking my head off

Finally got out of Raleigh and made it to Miami with about 15 minutes to make our connection

Didn't matter though, because we were again delayed for an hour and a half...and yes you guessed it, we were again at the bar

After about 9 cocktails in 5 hours we finally got on the plane and left Miami for Panama and ... thats right started drinking again

We stayed the first night at Riande Airport hotel, which is nice because it is right by the airport and easy to find. Rooms are decent, a/c worked well, and most importantly the bar was open till 1am..

Re: Panama trip

Continued..

Day two involved picking up the rental suv and making the 5 and 1/2 hour drive up into the Chiriqui province to the property. Drive went well and if it matters to anybody, Thrifty car rental in Panama has done us well to this point and we always get a good ride....

Finally arrive at my buddy Chads place and grab a cold beer

his place is unreal and it was nice to see that the pool is almost done.

Re: Panama trip

Upon arrival we met David Plummer from the UK and his buddy Colin from France who had the biggest poppers I have ever seen......You can only get em' in France apparrently and we are already figuring it out as my partner has a place in southern France

They had a good day that day to say the least with a catch and release on an estimated 700lb Black Marlin and losing a 250b class Yellow Fin Tuna at the boat. I looked at Chad and said.......Okay I know we are busy but we must fish at least on day PLEASE!!!!!!!

Re: Panama trip

The gist if you have not figured it out yet is simple.........

My wife and I are throwing it all on the line with the help of our partner Terry and making a run at a small resort in Panama with a few lots to go along with it likely. Hopefully there will be enough interest and I will continue to post the coming adventure...

Anyway as the week progressed we did finally get out on Chad's boat for a little fishing and alot of drinking

Crap the rain never stopped J/K it really didn't matter, it was just another beautiful day in paradise and we had a great time catching rainbow runner's, skippy's, and wahoo.... Tried the poppers at a few spots, but just too much wind on the water in the better spots....Lost a really nice fish assuming it was a larger model wahoo as it snapped the #9 like it was 10lb

Here's a couple of shots of a beach on one of the offshore islands...

Re: Panama trip

Well we ran up to Boquete' up in the mountains a couple hours drive from the property to check it out as we keep saying we are going to go and don't.

What a beautiful place, gotta take your lady up there man,,,,,game on and cheap....

We stayed at the Panamonte Hotel and it ran about $60 a night and my angus filet was $12 at dinner.....it's a killer side trip and 55 degrees at night is always a nice break in the tropics..

Check the photos...

Re: Panama trip

Of course it was a great trip even though I still don't get to fish enough on these trips yet. If all goes well I will be doing a lot more fishing and giving some sick reports come January/february....

Here's a parting shot of what we did everyday...DRINK

I think I should mention that no one has a wife like I do in many respects....and when I came to her with this ridiculous idea she continued to remind me of why I married her by replying "When do we go?"

Till next time boyz....keep em' tight
